Clear terms, before any work starts.
What you can expect from Melya, what we need from you, and how quotes, payments, corrections and refunds work.
Who we are
These terms govern the services sold on melyatax.com by Melya LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (Filing ID 2026-002096661), 30 N Gould St, Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA ("Melya", "we"). You can reach us at contact@melyatax.com. By approving a quote or paying for a service, you accept these terms.
Last updated: October 19, 2026.
What we do, and what we don't
Melya prepares US federal and state tax filings, information returns, bookkeeping and financial statements for owners of US companies, mainly founders who live outside the United States. The work is carried out by an IRS-registered tax return preparer holding a PTIN.
Melya is not a CPA firm, a law firm or an investment adviser. We do not represent clients before the IRS or any state agency, we do not give legal advice, and we do not give tax advice on the law of your country of residence (for example France or Switzerland). When that is needed, we work alongside your own adviser.
Quotes and scope
Every engagement is defined in writing before any work starts: either a fixed-price service listed on the site, or a written quote sent within 48 hours of your request. The quote lists the filings, tax years and deliverables included. Anything not listed, such as additional years, extra forms, amended returns or replies to later IRS letters, is quoted separately before we do it.
Prices and payment
Prices are in US dollars and are paid in advance through Stripe, unless the quote says otherwise. Work starts once the payment is received and the documents we need are in the secure client portal. The Diagnostic fee is credited in full toward the next service you order from us.
Your responsibilities
You agree to provide complete and accurate information and documents, to answer our questions within a reasonable time, and to review every filing before it is signed and sent. You remain responsible for the content of your returns, for signing them, for keeping your records, and for any deadline you have not entrusted to us in writing.
Late or incomplete information can delay the work. We are not responsible for penalties that result from it.
Timelines and filing
Delivery times shown on the site or in the quote run from the day we have both the payment and all the documents requested. We tell you as soon as we see a risk of missing a deadline, and we may recommend an extension (for example Form 7004 or Form 4868) when a deadline is close.
Depending on the service, either we send the filing to the IRS on your behalf after you have signed it, or we deliver the completed filing for you to sign and send. The quote states which. We keep proof of every fax or mailing we send.
Confidentiality of your tax information
We use the information you give us only to prepare your filings and provide the services you ordered. We do not use or disclose your tax return information for any other purpose without your separate written consent, as required by section 7216 of the Internal Revenue Code. Our Privacy Policy explains how your data is handled.
Corrections and liability
If a filing we prepared contains an error on our part, we correct it at no extra charge.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to a service is limited to the fees you paid for that service. We are not liable for tax you legally owe, for the consequences of incomplete or inaccurate information you provided, or for decisions taken by the IRS or other authorities. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Right of withdrawal for consumers in the EU
If you are a consumer living in the European Union, you can withdraw from the contract within 14 days of accepting the quote or paying, without giving a reason, by writing to contact@melyatax.com.
If you ask us to start the work before the end of those 14 days, you will owe an amount proportionate to the work done until you withdraw, and you lose the right to withdraw once the service has been fully performed.
Refunds and ending an engagement
Refunds follow our Refund Policy. You can end an engagement at any time by email. We may end an engagement if the information we need is not provided, if a request cannot be lawfully fulfilled, or in case of abusive behaviour. In that case we refund the part of the fee that corresponds to work not done.
Intellectual property
Our guides, tools, templates and website content remain our property. The filings and documents prepared for you are yours to use for your own tax and business purposes.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA. If you are a consumer living outside the United States, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live. Before any legal action, please write to contact@melyatax.com so we can look for a solution together.
We may update these terms. The version that applies to an engagement is the one in force on the day you accept the quote or pay.
