Your data, handled with care.
How Melya LLC collects, uses and protects your personal information, and the rights you have over it.
Information we collect
When you interact with our website or use our services, we may collect the following types of information. Personal information: details like your name, email address, phone number, and billing information when you sign up for our services or contact us. Non-personal information: data like your IP address, browser type, operating system, and browsing behavior, which we use to keep the site secure and improve our services. Cookies: we use only essential cookies needed for the site to work. See the Cookies & Tracking section below. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect for various purposes. This includes delivering the services you have requested, processing payments, and managing your account. We also use your data to communicate with you, send updates, respond to inquiries, and provide customer support. Information collected is analyzed to improve our services and develop new features. With your consent, we may occasionally send you promotional offers or marketing emails, which you can opt out of at any time.
Cookies & tracking
This website keeps cookies to a minimum. We only use what is strictly needed for pages to load securely.
We do not use advertising, marketing, analytics or cross-site tracking cookies, so no cookie consent banner is required. If we add tools that rely on such cookies in the future, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy. You can also block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings.
Sharing your information
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. However, there are instances where we may need to share your information. We may share data with trusted service providers who help us operate our business, such as payment processors (Stripe), our secure client portal (Canopy), form delivery and website hosting (Cloudflare). These providers are required to maintain the confidentiality of your data. Additionally, we may share your information to comply with legal requirements if we are legally obligated to do so or in response to requests from public authorities.
How we protect your information
At Melya, we take data security seriously and implement several security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. We use encryption, secure servers, and strict data access controls to safeguard your information. Client documents are exchanged through a secure client portal, never as email attachments.
While we strive to protect your data, it’s important to note that no method of internet transmission is completely secure, though we do everything we can to ensure your data’s safety.
Your rights
You have rights over the personal information we hold about you. You can ask us to: provide a copy of your data; correct anything inaccurate; delete your data; restrict or object to how we use it; and provide it in a portable format so you can move it elsewhere. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. You can also unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in each email. If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you can lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Retention of data
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it. Records tied to a client engagement, including tax documents, are kept for seven years after the engagement ends to meet U.S. tax record-keeping rules. Billing records are kept for the period required by law. Prospect and marketing contacts are kept until you ask us to remove you. When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.
Third-party links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites. Please note that this privacy policy applies only to the Melya website, and we are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party sites.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make changes, they will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your data.
